"The perfectionism porcupine" - Hat's off to you if you came up with that! I think it's something we all deal with from time to time. Learning to set deadlines and ship has been something I've been working on this year and slowly getting better at. Four thousand weeks was a great book, I just finished it myself!

Thanks Brian! I've been trying to stick to self-imposed deadlines too. It's hard to accept that a piece could get better, but that just shipping it might be the best option in the grand scheme of things

I feeeel this!! Master procrastinator my whole life, for some reason I can only complete quality work when I’m under a harsh deadline. Yet I spend more time thinking about that deadline instead of just ✨doing the work✨ I’m happy to say that I’m ending my freelance contract at the end of this month, and though I’ll miss the $$$ I am SO excited to log off on Fridays and not think about all of the mini deadlines my freelance work was bringing. This has been my #1 procrastination problem over the past few months. At first I would batch out the content calendar prior to the month, then slowly started doing half of the month at a time and coming back to the second half, until eventually now I manually post content every day since I’ve procrastinated on batching all of the content. Happy to start my summer with less things that bring out the procrastinator in me (+ less screen time) so I can focus less on all the things im procrastinating on, and focus more on things that bring me joy. Sometimes the harsh truth is realizing what it is you’ve been procrastinating on, WHY you continue to put it off, and make the decision of if its serving or no longer serving you. Low budget low stress summer, here I come!

Freeeeedom for summer - stoked for you. I agree that sometimes procrastination is a sign that something needs to change, and maybe its not you thats the problem. I think that might be the case with my work...
